On Monday, July 14, 2008, Lynda Hartman and Carolyn Barbour were awarded Blue Ribbon certificates for their caring, kind efforts to provide free meals to hungry children and accompanying adults in our Blue Ribbon Community through the Food-4-Kids program at Immanuel United Church of Christ. The program, now in its third year, is on pace to serve 3,000 meals this summer. To learn more about the Food-4-Kids program please call the church at 660-826-3553.
It is the mission of the Blue Ribbon Plan to salute those in our community striving to achieve blue ribbon standards for our community. It is only through the honorable efforts of our citizens, like Ms. Hartman and Ms. Barbour, that we continue to make Sedalia a blue ribbon place to live, to work, to learn and to visit.
Presenting the award were Blue Ribbon Steering Committee members Jim Mathewson and Ahrazue Wilt. For more information about the Blue Ribbon Vision please contact the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce at 660-826-2222 or visit www.blueribbonvision.com.
