Artist Doug Freed Honored With Blue Ribbon Certificate
Blue Ribbon Committee member Judy Parkhurst presented a Blue Ribbon Certificate to Douglass Freed on Saturday, July 14th during a retirement reception for Mr. Freed at the Daum Museum. Along with being an artist himself, Mr. Freed has been strongly committed to art initiatives throughout the Sedalia community and has worked very hard to make Sedalia’s Daum Museum the international success that it is today. Mr. Freed embodies a positive attitude and a strong passion for the arts, which has been a true benefit to Sedalia over the years. During the retirement reception the college announced that the gallery on the main floor of the Daum Museum will be official renamed the Douglass Freed Gallery and an anonymous donor has contributed $100,000 endowment to purchase artwork in Freed’s name.
